Big wins for VI’s U-17 & U-15 teams in Puerto Rico!

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – Competing at the Little Lads and Lasses Basketball tournament being held in Ponce, Puerto Rico, both teams from the [British] Virgin Islands had resounding wins yesterday, Thursday July 18, 2013.

First up, the U-17 team beat St Croix 60-40 on the back of 13 points from Kimron Telemaque. He was well supported by Mackebo Fahie, who finished with 8 points, as well as Franklyn Penn Junior, Roman Minott and Nathan Rodney who all scored 7.

For St Croix, Tikoy Felix scored 16 and Kenyatta Milligan 11.

The U-15 team then had a resounding 65-36 win over St Teresita, with Neville Smith Junior top scoring with 16 points and 6 rebounds. Stephon Caul added 11 points, 9 rebounds, 2 blocks and 3 steals, whilst D’Moi Hodge notched 9 points, 3 steals and 3 assists.

Hakeem Penn and Terrique Wattley both scored 8 with Penn adding 5 rebounds and Wattley 2 rebounds, 2 steals and 4 assists.

Play continues today and concludes on Saturday.
