Beyonce A. DeFreitas bags Bronze @ 2023 NACAC 100M U23 sprint

SAN JOSE, COSTA RICA — Virgin Islands (VI) sprinter, Beyonce A. DeFreitas yesterday July 21, 2023, has taken bronze in the U23 Spring 100M races at the NACAC 2023 U18 and U23 Championship games currently being held in San Jose, Costa Rica.

Information from the BVI Athletics Association (BVIAA) is that DeFreitas bagged her thrilling bronze medal at the 100m finals after running 11.41 seconds (+0.7mps) against a competitive class of seasoned athletes.

Earlier during the day, Beyonce ran 11.37 seconds (+5.5mps) securing a third-place finish in heat 1 qualifying for the 100m finals.

American sprinter Mia Brahe-Pedersen set the pace in women’s 100m semifinals for heat one at the 2023 NACAC U23 Championships where DeFreitas qualified for the final.

“It feels great to win a medal at the NACAP championships. It's been a long season and it's gonna continue to be a long season,” Beyonce said in an interview after the race.
