ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- The 2026 National Science and Innovation Fair organised by the Ministry of Education, Youth Affairs and Sports culminated on Friday, March 20, 2026, at the Multi-purpose Sports Complex in Road Town.

Three hundred and twenty-eight students from twenty-seven schools across the Virgin Islands (VI) participated in the fair, showcasing their creativity, research and problem-solving skills. 

The 2026 National Science and Innovation Fair was one of the major highlights of Education Month 2026.

Awarded students are ‘best of the best’- Orlandette R. Crabbe

Seventy-nine students dubbed “little scientists” were awarded in various categories on the fair’s final day during a prize-giving ceremony. 

“These recipients represent the best of the best,” Chief Education Officer Orlandette R. Crabbe said. 

The most prestigious awards were as follows:

Top awards:

  • Top Secondary Student: Alexandre Wilson (Cedar International) 
  • Top Primary Student: Kay-Den Percell (Enis Adams Primary School) 
  • Top Secondary School: Cedar International School
  • Top Primary School: Enis Adams Primary School 

Special Prize Winners:

  • Best Speakers: Sofia Rampersaud (Ebenezer Thomas Primary School) & Ava Ghiorse (Cedar International School) 
  • Most Innovative Project: Matthew Davis (Ebenezer Thomas Primary School)
  • Rising Star Award: Nathan Daniel & Tzaddi Noel (Robinson O’Neal Memorial Primary School) 
  • Judges' Choice: Matthew Davis (Ebenezer Thomas Primary School)
  • Community Impact: Zuri Samuel (Cedar International School)
  • People's Choice: Mini-Hydroponic Garden (Enid Scatliffe Pre-Primary School)
  • Best Display: Nathan Daniel & Tzaddi Noel (Robinson O’Neal Memorial Primary School)

Primary Division 1st Place Winners:

  • Lower Primary Experiment: Kay-Den Percell (Enis Adams Primary School)
  • Upper Primary Experiment: Dottie Whitting-Knight (Cedar International School)
  • Lower Primary Model: Matthew Davis (Ebenezer Thomas Primary School)

Secondary Division 1st Place Winners:
