EAST END Tortola, VI – Tola Radio VI 100.5 FM morning radio host Floyd Burnett aka 'Heritage' has been challenged to take a more responsible approach in disseminating information to the public via his radio show.

Deputy Premier and Minister for Education, Culture, Youth Affairs, Fisheries and Agriculture, Dr The Hon Natalio D. Wheatley (R7) laid down the gauntlet on the Monday, February 21, 2022, edition of the morning radio show, while addressing local social issues on 'Da morning Braff,' radio show.

“First thing I want to say heritage… I love you. You're my cousin. We never going to Fall out, but I do want to say something before I start addressing the issue… I'm hoping and praying that you could take a different approach to what you're taking.

“Despite the fact that you're very popular, you have a very popular programme, people love the programme, you have to be more cautious and more responsible with the things you say,” Dr Wheatley went on to say.

‘Take a more responsible approach’– Deputy Premier

According to the Deputy Premier, Burnett’s duty to responsibly disseminate information is one that goes beyond politics.

“Now certain people won't say it to you because they feel as though they are benefitting from it, but it is, it is truly beyond politics, beyond election, beyond any of those things, you have to take a more responsible approach on the radio.”

Dr Wheatley added, “ I've seen you do it. I've seen you be very responsible. And I know you can do it and I want to encourage you to be more responsible on the radio, I’m going to tell you like it is because I want to see you prosper and I want to see you grow,” he added.

Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Burnett has also been accused of spreading COVID-19 misinformation and for pushing an anti-vaccination rhetoric which many believe has discouraged persons from getting vaccinated against, SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19.

Yep listen To your cousin. Loud and popular doesn't mean you're right ! Take the time to disseminate vaccine info and always stay unbiased when reporting information to the public. Report researched facts from valid resources and let your audience choose. Be respectful when reporting info to the public .Remember our young ppl are watching and listening!

    I agree with "Exactly" points.
Heritage needs to do a course in journalism and media. It's not everybody could just jump up and be talk show host. You have to be responsible when reporting information to the public, it's not about being "popular". Stay unbiased. Not because you don't believe in it means you must be on the airwaves spewing hate!

Keep off of Heritage! Vino seems to like what Sowande said so they're quick to jump on it! You all like to use the word 'misinformation.' The word is being used wrongly by Dr. Faucci and those who want people to take that vaccine that killing people all over the world. Imagine they don't want to release the ingredients until 75 years' time. That is a slap in the world's face. The world surely does not have 10 years left, much less 75 years the way that things are going. Thank God for a radio station that can bring out the truth to the public. The governments know that those vaccines are no good and yet they continue to push them on the people of this world.

Thank you, Heritage, for shedding light in the darkness. Just be a little calmer. Otherwise, you are doing a good job. The lies and evil can really make a person like you get angry, but hold the line.

Can you check how many people died before the vaccine and how many died after the vaccine. I guest you are going to say all who died before the vaccine were killed by doctors and those that died after were killed by the vaccine. Open your eyes and your mined and think for yourself instead of listening to the hoard of antis that are coming out of the woods just craving for attention.

It is his radio station and we have free speech. He can say whatever. I don't listen because I know better. I read and read some more. I watch the news and see what is happening around the world. I made the decision to get the vaccine. It is my body. There were antivaxxers who got covid and wished they had taken the vaccine. To each his own. Who dont want to take it it is their right. Who take it it is still their right.
