ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Veteran road runner Pamenos Ballentyne of St Vincent and the Grenadines made light work of the competition en route to winning the 10th annual Deloite-Ogier BVI Sunrise Half Marathon on Saturday December 5, 2015.

Ballentyne overcame the challenge of 3-time winner Shane DeGannes of St Thomas, USVI to win in 1 hr 19 mins and 18 seconds. He won himself $1000, compliments of the BVI Tourist Board, and a trophy.

DeGannes was second, followed by Vincent Fournier. Reuben Stoby and Julius Farley rounded out the top 5.

Ruth Ann David, who missed the ferry to Tortola last year, and fell outside of the record in 2013 after running off course, returned in menacing form as she ran unchallenged to win in 1:30.46, smashing the old record of 1 hr 34 minutes 09 seconds.

David won herself $1000 and an additional $250 for breaking the course record.

Last year’s winner Katrina Crumpler had to settle for second place.

More than a hundred runners took part in the 10th edition of the race.

More details to follow.
