A Barbadian man who was wanted in the United Kingdom on an alleged sexual assault more than 20 years ago was extradited last Friday.

Former mental health nurse Jason McEdwin Forde, 56, is facing charges relating to sexual offences against a female patient at East London Hospital. The offences allegedly occurred while the patient was under his care at Homerton Hospital in Hackney in 2004.

Reports indicate that several police officers descended on the Chancery Lane, Christ Church home where Forde lived with his wife and whisked him off to the airport, where he was placed on a flight bound for Heathrow Airport in London.

On arrival, he made an appearance the following day at the Westminster Magistrates’ Court, where he was slapped with eight charges.
