MANAGUA, Nicaragua- The [British] Virgin Islands Under-20 Men’s National Team has ended its campaign in Group A of the CONCACAF Under-20 Championship Qualifiers in Nicaragua on a high note, after beating Anguilla 3-1 at the Estadio Nacional De Nicaragua in Managua on Thursday, February 29, 2024.

Azarni Callwood netted all the goals for the Virgin Islands, scoring first in the 18th minute, then the 23rd minute, before registering his hat-trick from a free kick in the 89th minute.

Jared Smeins converted Anguilla’s only goal in the 28th minute.

All's well that ends well?

The Virgin Islands were coming off a thrilling 4-3 win over Belize on February 27, 2024.

It was a change of fortune for the VI, as they lost their opening game to Nicaragua 0-8 but then narrowly fell to powerhouse Cuba 1-2.

Unfortunately for the VI, they will miss out on advancing to the second round as only the winners of each group will advance.
