THE SETTLEMENT, Anegada, VI- The Auguste George International Airport will be closed for two days for specific maintenance work.

In a bulletin to the public on Friday, June 13, 2025, Managing Director of the BVI Airports Authority, Mr. Kurt A.G. Menal, announced the airport’s closure for Monday, June 16 and Tuesday, June 17, 2025.

“The closure is necessary to facilitate preventative maintenance work to the fire appliance, which is critical to maintain our safety standards,” Mr Menal said.

Provisions have been made with the domestic fire services for coverage in the event of an emergency evacuation being required, he added.

Travellers with confirmed tickets for June 16 and 17 have been urged to contact their respective airlines directly for information regarding their travel.

Mr. Menal also thanked the travelling public in Anegada for their patience and cooperation as the BVIAA continues to uphold its motto, ‘Safety is our #1 Priority’.
