‘As a man of the cloth, it is my duty to pray for the fallen’- Bishop Cline

- says it is not up to persons to decide whether God should have mercy on Ex-Premier Fahie

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – Expressing shock and heartbreak over the arrest of ex-Premier Hon Andrew A. Fahie (R1), Bishop of the New Life Baptist Church in Duff’s Bottom, Tortola, Mr John I. Cline said it was his duty to pray for the ex-Premier and those who have fallen.

Bishop Cline made the comments during the May 26, 2022, edition of the My BVI Show streamed on Facebook.

His comments come on the heel of backlash for calling on God to ‘have mercy' on Hon Fahie, who was arrested in the US on money laundering and drug conspiracy charges in late April.

No favoritism to pay for Premier - Bishop Cline

Affirming that his prayer was not one of favouritism, Mr Cline said, “They put this ridiculous picture of me crying and say I’m crying for the Premier… that’s not it at all, I’m crying for my country and the place that we have come to.”

Virgin Islands News Online (VINO) had reported on Monday, May 23, 2022, that the Bishop during a sermon on Sunday, May 22, 2022, in prayer before his congregation said, “It is not my desire nor should be anyone who wants to see him [Andrew A. Fahie] spend any length of time in a US prison, but I Pray that God will show him mercy.”

The Bishop was visibly in tears as he moved to prayer in the Sunday morning sermon streamed live on Facebook.

Speaking on the My BVI Show, Mr Cline said, “I know I got a lot of flak for asking that the Lord show mercy on him, because at the end of the day for me… it is not up to us to decide who God would have mercy on,” he said.

“To know what he was involved with, what he has been charged with… also as a Christian nation and one [Hon Fahie] who has called many meetings [and] the nation to prayer, to find out that it was also another side, it was more than disappointing for many of us,” he added.

A duty to pray for the fallen - Bishop Cline

The Bishop added the prayer for Hon Fahie is amongst many since the church prays for other social issues in the VI, such as for young men and those suffering as a result of gun violence.

Meanwhile, the Bishop added that he also has a duty to pray for persons who have fallen. “As a man of the cloth and a man of faith and a man of love, it is my duty,” he added.

The Bishop said if people don’t agree that he should be praying for the Premier, that's fine, “I still feel it was my duty to offer my prayer for him… I just do what I feel in my heart that I would do and that’s that,” he added.

Let me enlighten you every place in the world have problems with people in top positions messing up even in our loving UK. All over the world Kings, queens, prince and princesses make mistakes and do things that are destructive to themselves and their Nations. But life goes on and we all learn from our mistakes and is given an opportunity to make our wrongs right. Any one who define others by their past should be isolated in hell. What or who give you the right to continue to slander people every day. I have no fish to fry. No one does me any favors and I spend my few dollars and buy what I an afford but daily I read your comments and feel you need to know just how you are portraying yourself to be hateful, jealous, low self esteem racists.

So what you are implying rubber duck.that when ppl break the law they shouldn't be dealt with. We all can empathize but we can't go around and feel that he should not pay for his actions. Every actions have consequences and so if u get caught then you pay. If u don't support it then all the criminals in jail who rape, murder etc should set free because you sympathize with them and they should not be arrested bc ppl make mistakes. Nothing wrong to prayer for mercy but nothing wrong for the law enforcing officers do there job and ensure he stays behind bars.

They the messenger never one day encourage us to go and sin or treat anyone bad. They tell us to "To act JUSTLY and to LOVE MERCY and to WALK HUMBLE with your God....and that's what God requires of us. If we do such. This world would be a better place.

The devil comes disguised as an angel of light and knows scripture better than most.

Hope you all realize these so-called pastors carry familiar spirits (look it up). Just try make sure they don’t lay hands on you in prayer.

        2 Corinthians 11:13-15

For such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. So it is no surprise if his servants, also, disguise themselves as servants of righteousness. Their end will correspond to their deeds.

        1 John 4:1

Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world.

it’s sad to see the amount of people who be complaining within the comments section on tola radio when that one lady call in to pray. Just before she call it’s always some kind of drama; when she being to pray the devil people take to the comment section “She always killing the video “ That’s a long pray; she going done? someone message me when she done pray buddy etc. Some that might seemed simple but honestly that’s bold evidence of the devil live is the mist. They always angry when prayers begin. I seen those individuals and made it my business to keep away of those of that likeness. I’ll encourage Tola Radio and that 1 person who pray everyday to continue doing so in Jesus name Amen. The devil goons are many but no match for the Kings of Kings

All on Facebook someone could post about God’s Word regularly or share encouragement for others to come to Christ and watch how it gets ignored if it even gets a like. Let these followers of Christ post about worldly things how many would jump on the post liking and commenting.

People don’t see God as the in-thing, the trending thing, and close their eyes and ears mocking anyone who has a zeal for Christ.

Watch when these same mockers fall into problems who they run to quick calling for help but God.

Ungrateful people in this world who are ashamed to profess and be disciples for Christ yet expect Him to bless them.

Hope they know their will must be in alignment with God’s will and He only answers prayers of those in true repentance and obedience.

Can’t skin up your face to others rallying for Christ then expect to be in Heaven when it’ll be EVERYTHING GODLY.

Contrition: Inmate Fahie, all his relatives, friends, cronies, business contacts, corrupt civil servants, most cops, etc.
Thanksgiving: EVERYBODY ON THE ENTIRE PLANET!

He isn't even praying for Ms. Maynard and her son who were arrested with Andrew and you're asking him to name two other prisoners? Well, I name them for him. Why? Because they are BVIslanders too who are in the United States behind bars caught in the same ugly mess. No. I am not family. I am just wondering what makes some of us so special that some deserve prayers and others don't. Ms. Maynard is a lady. She is in prison and she can rot in jail for all praying folks seem to care. All three of them were arrested, and if the allegations are true, Andrew Fahie, being the Premier of the British Virgin Islands, should have encouraged Ms. Maynard and her son to walk away from dirty, demonic deals that have the potential of turning us into a Narco State. Seems to be he was the leader of the flock in this case and should have led these two individuals and others out of this foolishness. They will all answer now for their ignorance for in this business they were dealing in, you don't know who is around the next corner.

And for those who felt he was set up? Yes, he was. But pray tell, why would they set up such a sting to catch a big fish like our Premier in these types of dealings? And tell us, please, why was he caught, why did he fall for the bait? Because this wasn't his first rodeo maybe? People, take your head out of the clouds and pray for all three and for this country and the others complicit in this vile business and their families. It only destroys lives.
