GREENLAND, Tortola, VI- During a police operation on Friday, June 27, 2025, officers conducted an apartment raid in the Greenland area of Tortola, resulting in the arrest of an underage schoolboy allegedly linked to the murder of Terrance B. Lettsome International Airport Fire Officer Eric Albert.

The young man, whose name is known to us but has not been released, has not yet been charged. According to multiple sources familiar with the case, other family members were present in the apartment during the police raid and may also be implicated.

What is the evidence?

Police recovered a firearm and other items they allege are linked to the crime scene. Charges are expected to be filed as early as Monday, June 30, 2025.

Other eyewitnesses have also reported seeing the same teenager fleeing near the Greenland Cemetery shortly after the shooting.

At this time, it remains unclear how authorities will proceed with the teenager, how many family members are currently in police custody, or whether officials will make a public statement given the suspect’s age.

Mr. Albert was fatally shot on Friday, June 20, 2025, just before 11:00 PM in Greenland, near a popular bar.

Our news centre will continue to provide the most accurate and timely updates on this developing story.

Show his face so we will know who he and his mother are!!! Don't allow him any privacy since he was bold enough to kill a person. If he is old enough to arrest, then he is old enough to show his face. SHOW IT!

They need to show his face. But you know they are going to come with the BS about he is under age. The same way he was encouraged and given a few dollars to kill this man, the same way another underage boy can be coached to pull the trigger on one of you that you call yourselves prominent or the famous last namers on the Island. Just think and remember that. The gangs is getting the young boys to do the dirty work to eliminate people.

@tiger commentator: the police can ONLY bring the matter to court with witnesses and complaints. The court makes the decisions and even they are limited by legislation. The only one that can deport is the GOVERNOR. This young man is NOT child but a reincarnated wicked man in a child body!

Nothing but the truth, him and his mama should have been deported a long time ago. I live in Greenland and I cautioned my boy to stay as far away from that boy. Honestly, my boy was afraid of him and what he might do to him.

The Governor is in charge of the popos and the BVI. Does the popos have any authority to deport anybody? People like you got your dunce crew to up your likes but it shows how ignorant and stupid you are.

They are using and paying the young ones to pull the trigger. They know the law is not going to jail the young boys. They are recruiting the young boys to green light people for money and a Gucci chain and a diamond stud.

@ mercy. If he is big and bad enough to kill, he is old enough for jail. Don't allow his age to get away with anything he has done. Make him and his mother suffer the consequences! Deport both of them. He should NOT be allowed to go free because of his age!!! Deport them after he serves his prison time!!!

This place is different. Intervene his minor friends. He has to be in the wrong crowd to do that here. No policing and the drop outs have fire power.

Am I reading this right? You’re telling me that a minor under 16 responsible for this and he still in school, primary at that. Is the true? Where are his parents? Why was he out his house at that time of the night? Children should be at home and in their beds that time of the night. Lately I find to many minors out about at ridiculous times and no adult supervision. In my days you had to be home by time the lights came on even if you next door by other family or friends. Then again parents back then we’re different, they will meet you places you should be and take you home while giving you a good talking too. A don’t forget the licks and further talking too waiting on you. Still can’t believe this.

Everybody have rights right? How does a parents right is equal to a child’s right. Who in charge of the home? A parent have responsibilities for and to the child. What responsibilities does a child have? That’s rhetorical question. Since they have none why would they act responsibly? They can up and leave as they please and no one can intervene except when the police is called to lock up the parents. Smb

Stop making excuses for the police because they should be moving about our villages 24-7: the police should make a better effort to prevent crime rather than trying to figure out what happened after the crime was committed and not very successful in finding the perpetrators: our territory is very small and the number of unsolved murders and other crimes is remarkable

The police main focus is drugs and the drug money with all manner undercover operations while the other criminal activities keep on getting worse

High day and we have killings in 24 square smiles and no arrests

    run chat that

In St. Croix there’s a similar situation involving a minor in the murder of a prominent citizen of that country. His parents had long time been imprisoned for their failure to adequately shoulder their responsibilities to him and his other siblings. In the US they don’t play. Here we are in the BVI with a minor being out on the streets after hours engaging in criminal activity, going back home after hours and no questions asked. Now here he is being accused of murder. Not good! Not good! Did the system fail him? OR Did his parents fail him?

The time and effort you all or investing into giving out tickets for traffic offenses, could be better used in solving other serious crimes. There are waayy to many useless auxiliary and station officers on the force.

It got to be hard when a woman produce a bad seed. If this is true of what this boy is accused of doing at this age can you imagine what he would do as an adult. If I was this little boy mother, he would have to tell me who put the gun in his hand and who told him to gun down the man and for what reason.

You allow your children to run the streets anytime at nights and after hours the streets is going to eat them up. My son is 17 years old and his curfew is 8:00pm. If he is not in the house by 8:pm his backside is mine. I also have a tracker on my son where I can monitor his location at all times from my phone. If you care about your children you have to lay down parental supervision.

This child should be tried as an adult and his mother should also be held and charged.

Again I would like to thank those parents in vg who reported their young son to the police, that is great parenting, you see the outcome of shielding your child here look both child and parent will end up behind bars, if the police found the weapon in the house and parents were there then they know about it. They need to enter a plead deal and say where they get the gun for and who or why someone wanted the fireman dead.

If those police were patrolling thoroughly throughout the night you wouldn't have all those bikes with altered muffler making noise all hour in the night. Why the police busy giving tickets to vehicles are legally on the road and those illegal bikes are roaming free with their noise 2am, 3am, 4am in the morning, you think this is right to be disturbing people who are resting? Are the parents of those young bike man cannot tell them how they are disturbing people in the neighborhood with those noise. We are afraid to talk to some parents because the noise because they will be vex and irritated more then you.

Our politicians need to be held accountable as well. We need laws where persons can be imprisoned for gang affiliation. A lot of these young boys feel that gang affiliation is cool. The police know who many of these ‘wanna be ‘ gangsters are but don’t have the authority to deal with them unless they are caught doing something heinous like the crime that we are discussing.

If this is the young man I know he was out of control a long time. Several times the parent was called to the school. I never saw,a father so I assume the mom was a,single parent. I know other residents who have taken the time to check kn him and speak to him but with no serious parenting we see the outcome. Sad all around. We definitely need a boys' home.

You parents that is allowing your young boys and girls to be out here roaming the streets after hours need some hard kicks and slaps across your faces. No wonder we have so many little illiterate dummies in the place that can barely read and write. If they are roaming the streets all time of the night how can they focus on school. And I don’t want to hear the lame BS about some parents have to work 2 jobs that is why they can’t focus on their children. THAT IS BBBBBB SSSSSS. That is part of being a parent. You were the one that made the choice to have children.
