BAUGHERS BAY, Tortola, VI- Just over a week after armed robbers hit a bakery, restaurant and bar in Sea Cows Bay, Tortola, gunmen stormed a restaurant, bar and nightclub in Baughers Bay last night, February 6, 2021, making off with cash from the establishment and patrons.

Reports reaching our newsroom indicate that two men, one armed with a gun, entered the Island Sizzle, Restaurant, Bar and Nightclub, while there were a number of patrons present.

Bartenders and patrons were held at gunpoint and relieved of an undisclosed amount of cash.

Sources said that while one of the men held one of the bartenders at gunpoint, the other went behind the counter and took away the cash register drawer.

Patrons scrambled for safety

While some of the patrons managed to make a mad dash to safety, at least two remained and were relieved of cash and jewellery.

Police are said to be reviewing CCTV footage to assist their investigations.

Too much gun crime for a small island.

And then when they are caught and go to court...they are given a little slap on the wrist. Look how many people were gunned down on this small island. The police will remember a case for about a year or MAYBE TWO and then they forget about the victims

I said it before and I say it again. We need to let business owners have something to protect them self and there business. I am surprised that there isn’t more robbery. When the gun man dem know the business man dem don’t even have a sling shot to protect them self their home and their business. Enough is enough!!

Patrons scramble for cover instead of them all tackling and subdue the one with the weapon.
Unless there was a third unseen armed person.

Tackling and subduing the one with the weapon? And get shot and possibly die in the process or even getting away?
