PURCELL ESTATE, Tortola, VI- The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) is investigating an armed robbery that took place at a well-known business along the Blackburn Highway in the Purcell area on Friday, September 25, 2026.

Incident Details

Police received a report shortly after 9:30 PM that two masked males, dressed in black, entered the establishment and demanded cash. One of the suspects was reportedly armed with what appeared to be a handgun. The suspects removed cash from two registers before fleeing the premises. No injuries were reported.

According to RVIPF, officers attended the scene and conducted initial enquiries. The investigation remains ongoing, and detectives are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or observed suspicious activity in the area around the time of the robbery to come forward.

Call for Information

Anyone with information is asked to contact the RVIPF Intelligence Unit at 368-9512. Information can also be provided anonymously through Crime Stoppers BVI at 800-8477.

Police said all information received will be treated with the "strictest confidence".

The RVIPF is reminding business owners and members of the public to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious activity to the police.

Although asking the public for help in the investigations, the RVIPF did not disclose the name of the store robbed.

    Why not mention the name of the store so people can remember if they saw anything suspicious in that area? That might help people remember something.
