WEST END, Tortola, VI- Residents of the First District and their elected representative Dr the Honourable Karl Dawson gathered at the Benjamin Romney Basketball Court in West End on Sunday, August 25, 2024, to wish students of the district success and to provide supplies to help them on their journey in the 2024/2025 academic school year.

“I am grateful for the community support, the tremendous assistance of the Virgin Islands Party First District Committee, and donors from within and outside the district. Zubida O'Neal and Dr Thompkins gave great words of encouragement,” Dr Dawson said in a Facebook post.

Over 100 students benefited

The Junior Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries, Dr Dawson, told our News Centre about 150 students beneffitted from the inititative.

The event was sponsored by Pussers Landing/One Mart Group of Companies, FLOW, CCT, A & D Bounce around and Things, Villas of Tortola, Voyage Charters, Dr Jerry Smith and Therapy Works, Erin Rentals, Sebastian’s by the Sea, De Coal Pot Restaurant, Island Services, Quick Bargains, Rite Way, Driftwood Spa, Tattoo’s Heavy Equipment, Josh Bakery, Mac's Restaurant, Kelly’s Ice, Jerry’s Car Rental, Kelly’s Superette, Lloyd Smith Construction, Shadow Dawson DJ Service and Super Shots, Dave Smith.
