ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- In recognition of their sterling contributions to the Territory, five prominent persons in the Virgin Islands were conferred with Rotary’s Paul Harris Fellow Award when the Annual Rotary Foundation Dinner was held at Maria’s by the Sea on Saturday, November 5, 2022.

The recipients were former Director of Social Security Board (SSB) Antoinette Skelton; philanthropist and businessman Allington O. Creque aka ‘Gumption’, businessman Marvin E. Blyden aka ‘MB’, President of the BVI Football Association and Founder of BDO Andrew D. Bickerton, and businessman and former sports administrator Mr Khalil Hassan aka ‘Johnny’.

A Paul Harris Fellow recognition acknowledges individuals who have made a significant impact in their community, which the local Club accepts by making a US$1,000 contribution to the Rotary Foundation in their name. These contributions are spent on humanitarian efforts around the world.

Paul Harris was the founder and organiser of the first Rotary Club in Chicago in 1905. He was the founder of the Rotary idea and the first president of the worldwide organisation Rotary International.

More details to follow.

Mrs. Skeleton served the BVI Security board with distinction and integrity. Under her leadership our monies were secure for our future retirement. It was never a free for all. Her name has never been attached to any forms of corruption PERIOD. As a result of her diligence and hard work our social security board and structure was the envy of our Caribbean neighbors. So if you don't have anything good to say don't start rumors. When she left she left with her hands clean and her integrity and name intact. You prove me wrong. Congratulations to all the recipients for your contributions to our island and it's development.
