Antigua & Barbuda wins Miss Jaycees Caribbean Queen Pageant

ST JOHN’S, Antigua & Barbuda- Ischikelle Corbin of Antigua and Barbuda was crowned queen when the 2023 Jaycees Queen Show was held in Antigua and Barbuda on Monday, July 31, 2023.

Corbin outshined contestants from the [British] Virgin Islands, Dominica, Haiti, Montserrat, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, and the United States Virgin Islands to claim the crown. 

She was named Miss Congeniality and also won Best in Interview, Best in Swimwear, Best Performing Talent, Best Modelling Skills for Evening Wear and Best Dressed for Evening Wear. 

The first runner-up in the pageant went to Adicia Burton of Dominica. 

The second runner-up in the pageant went to Shadyn McLean of St Vincent and the Grenadines. 

Miss St Lucia’s Shanice Butcher was named Miss Photogenic and Most True to the Theme.

The [British] Virgin Islands was represented by Ms Jareena Penn.

    Why do do we hand pick a queen who has nothing to offer? Who gives a Committee the right to determine who will represent the BVI on the international stage? If we are unable to host a show, there is absolutely no reason why we should send someone hand picked to these international shows. This current representative looks like someone in High School, immature, not fully developed, no experience, and I can go on and on. We are only embarrassing the "so called queen" and the entire British Virgin Islands! We have to do better!!!!!

      At least she ‘garrut’ is wearing a beautiful evening gown. The other two not sure what they are wearing?
