Antigua and Barbuda has officially unveiled a monument to legendary cricketer Sir Viv Richards outside the cricket ground that bears his name.

The statute of Richards raising his bat debuted on Wednesday evening at the Sir Vivian Richards Cricket Ground.

Richards, who is considered one of the greatest cricketers of the 20th century, has recently been helping the country market its tourism product.

Earlier this month, the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority released a new video starring Richards.

On hand for Wednesday’s ceremony were cricketing legends Sir Wes Hall, Sir Ian Botham, Clive Lloyd Curtly Ambrose, Richie Richardson and Andy Roberts.
