HODGE'S CREEK, Tortola, VI- The saga of police officers and civilians taking Commissioner of Police Mark Collins and others to court continues.

Many are now asking if all these lawsuits will bankrupt the Territory, since there are clear violations of rights.

It is alleged that UK Police Officers in the VI have a target list, which includes prominent residents and police officers who have signed a petition against the Commissioner of Police.

The latest to file 2 legal motions against the Commissioner of Police is Sergeant Sean A. McCall of the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force. The first motion filed in the court and obtained from the Registrar of the High Court is against The Magistrate, Commissioner of Police and Attorney General.

Officer McCall was arrested allegedly at the request of Commissioner Collins in March of 2023 and his phone taken and searched. The Attorney General used the Cybercrimes Act for the search.

Officer McCall had been the President of the Police Welfare Association and spoke out against injustice in the police force under Collins.

Abuse of power

In his first constitutional motion, he argued that the search warrant under the Cybercrimes Act contravened his rights under the Constitution.

In the second motion filed in the court by Officer McCall, he is seeking a Judicial Review over police disciplinary charges laid on the basis of delay and abuse of power.

The RVIPF under Collins has been rocked with over 10 lawsuits from his very own police officers and civilians. In addition, many public officers are taking court actions against the Governor, Attorney General and others over them being sent on leave or charged with Breach of Trust.

Mr McCall is being represented by high-powered Attorney Terrence F. Williams of Jamaica.

Michael Matthews had 15 lawsuits while ad COP. So was Reynell Fraser. They never hit the news media at no time. So why McCall had to put his out there. Everybody know he is a disgrace.

Collins is the first Commissioner to fight corruption. McCall thought he was above the law, and just like Fahie he has resorted to throwing mud at the Commissioner and the UK. The only person violated is Collins.

When the CoP takes on alleged corruption it’s only to be expected that they will get desperate and try to use the courts to prevent their ultimate fate. Good luck McCall but I think you going away me boy.

It's a pity that brainless people can come to this forum and leave comments for sensible people to read. You are talking about the violation of one's fundamental rights and people in 2024 cannot make a positive statement to the conversation. Physical servitude was terrible but mental slavery was the worst because some of the comments I read are a clear indication that the bloggers' minds are damaged beyond repair.

Oh the hypocrisy. A police officer, taking legal action because he was upset about being arrested? Have you never arrested anyone? Don’t you know how that works? If you’re innocent you have nothing to worry about! Jeez some people are so special

Not in the bvi and there are so many examples of this especially recently what they tried to do to police officers against Mark and public officials who supported Andrew

Regardless of how some people feel about the officer is not an issue. He was arrested for a criminal offense and has not been charged with a criminal offense. The officer should have been back to work since a month after his arrest. We will feel the negative impact of Collins when these lawsuits by several officers take their toll on the people's treasury. It is strange how they are now defending Collins when he tried to disgrace our territory with that degrading video Policing in Paradise how easily we forget.

    Hmmmmm

Reading some of the comments made it is clear to me that those who say McCall is corrupt do not know the young man. I have dealt with this man over and over again as a police officer and as an individual and I can say that those who criticize him cannot walk in his shoes when it comes to decorum., ethics, and integrity. He fights for his officers even those who say ill about him. I am certain those bloggers who speak ill of the house niggas who are a part of the network of Collins divisiveness and ploy to divide us as a people.

It has. And there are many others that have questions to answer. They are senior officers before Collins who failed to investigate and submit the relevant evidence. The current boss being made a scapegoat!!!

And it was all true. Everyone of those cases were factual and have been charged we have led to have been told.
