Should government acquire Ellis Thomas Downs through eminent domain/compulsory purchase for the public good, absent other viable options? Ok. I’m just asking the question…. Again, is Ellis Thomas Downs the best use of limited land? What is the level of interest of horse racing in the BVI? Is it a large percentage of the population? How often were races held? Was horse racing part of tourism attractions or a few local aficionados?? Did successive governments let the horse status/facility(s) get way? How long and what cost Will it take for the Ellis Thomas Downs to get up to standard? Should the horse racing issue be taken to a referendum for approval/disapproval? Should a tax for leasing and upgrading the Downs with a sunset clause be put before voters to debate, discuss, decide. Ok. I’m out . Congrats to Fighting Back. Outlying islands continuing to make a difference.
