THE SETTLEMENT, Anegada, VI- The Premier of the Virgin Islands, Dr. the Honourable Natalio D. Wheatley (R7), has stated that the Anegada Lobster Festival is a tourism initiative that the Virgin Islands (VI) government aims to revamp.

The Anegada Lobster Festival is a vibrant three-day culinary celebration held annually on Anegada.

During a recent episode of the podcast 'Too Inquisitive', which aired on June 12, 2026, the Premier remarked that the Anegada Lobster Festival is a quality product.

This internationally acclaimed culinary event brings together local restaurants, artisans, and musicians.

The premier added that the Anedaga lobster fest has the potential to do “a lot more than it does".

Next edition set for November

The next edition of the Anegada Lobster Festival is scheduled for November 27 to 29, 2026.

The annual festival is normally produced by the British Virgin Islands Tourist Board & Film Commission (BVITBFC) in collaboration with the Anegada community.

In 2025, the Anegada Beach Club, located at Keel Point, was voted the winner of the 2025 Best Lobster Sampler Competition held as part of the 2025 Anegada Lobster Festival.

For real, keep the low class hood rats away because they don’t know how to act and behave when they go anywhere both men and women. Just loud and have no manners and always bringing attention to themselves.

What does the Premier that the popular Anegada Lobster Fest can do more? How is the lobster harvest being managed to sustain the catch,,ie, ensuring the catch is below the population to reproduced? What is the current state, ie, healthy, approaching decline, etc,? What protective, sustainable practices and measures are in place?

Excellent questions….there was a story circulating some time back that claimed that lobsters were imported to Anegada because they’ve been over harvested in Anegada. Would’t be surprising at all. IMHO keep the lobster fest small. Anegada just does not have the infrastructure for thousands descending there for a week-end. Its charm is in being small and remote.

They are depleting the population of lobsters. Look at the size they are selling? Soon there will be no more lobsters on Anegada, likewise the conch too. Bahamas now cracking down on the harvesting of conch, the supply will dwindle. Every two years for lobster fest, not each year. All the lobsters gone, eaten, only the babies are at home and you are going for them too? Stop now!
