Andrews wins local time trial; Darel Jnr gets first victory for new team
On Sunday March 15, 2015 the BVI Cycling Federation (BVICF) held the first Time Trial of the cycling season, from Palestina to West End and back.
The race started at 7.00am with four riders coming out to battle for the right to be named BVICF Time Trial Champion. The race started at Palestine and headed West bound, turning around at Frenchman’s Cay junction and back to Palestine for the finish.
Race results are as follows:
1st place Orano Andrews 26.36
2nd Place Barry Jones 29.51
3rd Place Chris James 30.51
4th Place Status Talian 33.49
The BVICF thanked all the persons who came out to assist and support the BVICF race and riders.
The next race will be held on April 19, 2015 starting at Slaney and looping around Sea Cows Bay.
Elsewhere, the Federation has updated the Territory on the progress of Darel Christopher Junior.
On Saturday, March 14, 2015 Darel Christopher Jr officially started his cycling season on a team for the first time, Prima Tappa Cycling. The season opener was held in South Georgia and Darel Jr finished in 15th place while one of his teammates came home 6th.
On Sunday, March 15, 2015 the team competed in North Georgia and Darel Jr was victorious- his first victory for the 2015 season.
