With the release of the fourth national poll of Sailing World's college rankings, the Roger Williams University Women's Sailing team moves up to #8 in the nation, a programme best. In addition to the women's team's national ranking, the coed team moves up into a tie for fourth with in-state rival Brown University.

The Hawks have been enjoying a successful run over the past two weeks, having finished fifth or better in all nine regattas over that period. In four of those nine races, Roger Williams finished in second place. The women's team have placed fourth and fifth in their past two regattas.

Sailing World's college rankings, presented by Sperry Top-Sider, are determined by an open coach’s poll. The number of first place votes a team received is in brackets. 19 coaches voted in this poll: Bowdoin, Brown, Charleston, Coast Guard, Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, Eckerd, Georgetown, Hobart/Wm. Smith, Miami (Fla.), MIT, Navy, Old Dominion, Roger Williams, Rhode Island, Stanford, SUNY Maritime, Washington College.
