THE SETTLEMENT, Anegada, VI- The 2025 edition of the Anegada Lobster Festival was held this past weekend, Friday, November 28, to Sunday, November 30.

The annual festival was produced by the British Virgin Islands Tourist Board & Film Commission (BVITBFC) in collaboration with the Anegada community.

The signature food event on Anegada saw patrons partake in exploring the islands, fun and food, including a variety of lobster dishes.

The festival’s dynamic scavenger-hunt-style format encouraged visitors to sample creative lobster dishes at participating restaurants.

Patrons of the festival enjoyed day and nighttime activities and adventures across Anegada.

An unforgettable Lobster Fest

“Every ferry and plane came in packed to capacity, with visitors rolling in from Tortola, Virgin Gorda, St Thomas, and, for the very first time, St Croix, all ready to sample and enjoy the best lobster dishes across our nine incredible participating restaurants,” a post to BVI Food Fest’s Facebook page said.

The post went on to describe the energy, food and people as “immaculate”.

“Thank you to everyone who helped make this celebration truly unforgettable,” it added.

District 9 Representative and Minister for Health and Social Development Hon Vincent O. Wheatley, in his own Facebook post, said, “It was a lob-tas-tic weekend in the ninth!”, accompanied by photo highlights from the weekend.

Winners of the Junior Explorer Tour Challenge, Sampler Tasting Competition, and Favourite Sampler Restaurant Award will be announced later.

Why would Vincent allow that to happen. Let the taxi drivers on Anegada make their money and get a chance to put some money in their pockets. That was not right and unfair.

Allow to happen? Let them tell the truth from coming on here trying to cause confusion and spew lies.

Can't even plan their own event and want to turn around and stain their failed event by crying like a set of spoiled children over what they caused...assciousness.

Unforgettable for being WHACK. Honestly it was not all that. Some of the lobster dishes were tasteless to the point I ask myself if it was fake lobster like fake crab meat.

Some of the lobster meat was tough and rubbery. Lobster is not supposed to be to be tough and rubbery. Maybe they over cook the lobster meat then want to charge an arm and two legs for a plate. Lobster was considered a poor man’s meal so how is it so expensive

The dirty hookers looking for a trick and the thugs done took over. I spend money I don’t have to support the BS flop. As far as I am concerned they can scrap the whole damn thing.

I don’t eat lobster shrimps or anything that crawl along the bottom of the ocean eating anything they come in contact with. They are nasty bottom feeders

Combating myths and misconceptions around the taxi driver issues will be crucial in a factual investigation of what happened

Based on the small number of photos I will conclude that it was nothing to talk about.

So glad I did not waste my money on that crap. Lobster Fest use to be so nice and chill the ambiance change. Tourist Board or whoever is putting this together you have to do better or Lobster Fest is going to start dwindling out. You need to start planning for the next Lobster fest from last night.

Worst than last year in terms of USVI attendance, not even a full vessel came over to Anegada, which is due to poor marketing and the event gone done the drain literally!
