LEVERICK BAY, Virgin Gorda, VI- One of the Virgin Islands’ highly anticipated annual calendar events, the Leverick Bay Poker Run, was held on Sunday, May 25, 2025.
About 90 boats and approximately 700 persons participated, with over 95 hands purchased.
The winning hand was collected by Alliston A. Blyden, aka 'Domino King'.
Blyden, the skipper of ‘Statement’, won the top prize of $8,000 and a trophy.
'Full House' drawn
The young entrepreneur, who is the owner of Quality Cutting Yard Cleaning Services, won with a “full house”. He picked up a King of Diamonds on the 1st stop and a 5 of Hearts on the second stop. He drew a King of Hearts on the third stop and a King of Clubs on the 4th stop. His 5th stop brought him a 5 of Diamonds.
A thrilled Blyden told Virgin Islands News Online (VINO) it is not his first Poker Run, but he “never got this much luck” like yesterday.
The 2025 Leverick Bay Poker Run winner also praised the organisers of the event. “I must say I really liked the layout they have now. It was very much more organised, which made the game more honest, safe, fun, and fair.”
'Against All Odds'
2024 winner Jordan Romney, on ‘Against All Odds’, was second and pocketed $4000.
James Cammilleri, on ‘Sweetness’, won the 3rd place prize of $3000.
This year's route included Leverick Bay Resort and Marina, Loose Mongoose on Beef Island, Foxy's Taboo on Jost van Dyke, Pirates Bight on Norman Island and Ocean's 7 Yacht Club on Peter Island.
