ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- The public is being advised that officials at the Ministry of Health and Social Development are calling for the postponement of all summer camps and programmes until further notice.

This call to action is due to an increase in positive COVID-19 cases within the Territory.

The Territory’s epidemiological summary as of July 2, 2021, reports that there are 155 active cases. Ten (10) of these cases are located on vessels, 141 on the island of Tortola and 4 on Virgin Gorda.

According to Government Information Services (GIS) on July 3, 2021, residents are encouraged that during this time, it is important to comply and work together to control and suppress the spread of COVID-19.

It said the Ministry of Health and Social Development continues to encourage the community to protect themselves by boosting the immune system, exercising and eating healthy, wearing masks over mouth and nose, hand washing/sanitising for at least 20 seconds and practising proper cough etiquette.

Shouldn't the Ministry of Health also be encouraging vaccination? HOPEFULLY people should be able to get their first shot as it seems there will still be some left over, & the Government get more vaccine from the UK or wherever for second shots as needed!

People have had long enough to get vaccinated. The country can't be held back by indecision and ignorance. Since Government and the medical experts have been pushing the public to get vaccinated, those who don't and suffer the consequences have only themselves to blame.

Astra Zeneca is not an RNA vaccine like the other prominent ones on the market. Therefore it does not involve changing DNA. It was made the old fashioned way. Please do some research and stop contributing to histeria.

To all of you vaxers who took the jab, you need to stop with this "take the jab, take the jab". Everyone cannot take the jab, especially those who have had blood clots before or asthma sufferers. Plus, who are you to try and force people to put something into their bodies? Would you like people to force you to do something you don't want to do? HELL NO! If one more of you ask me if I was vaccinated, ALL HELL will break out, plus, you don't deserve an answer!
