All-local line up gave inspirational performance @ Gospel Fest
Emceed by vibrant, lively and often times humourous Pastor Henderson K. Tittle, the show captivated the audience with the cast of all local performers. All the performers were backed by the High Frequency Band.
With the show coming to close by midnight, it was a packed four hours or so when the performances commenced with the Joy Praise Group, which had some spiritually uplifting pieces.
Then it was Pastor Denroy Gumbs who was the second act of the night. Taking to the stage, he threw it down with some serious rap flows giving praises to the One on high. One of his main pieces was entitled ‘That no make sense’ with the theme of the song being a life outside of Christ makes no sense to him.
Following his performance there was Susu, a bilingual (English/Spanish) gospel performer who performed songs in both languages to the delight of the audience. Commencing her performance, she said the spirit knows no barriers.
Next on stage was Gabrielle Hoyte who gave a number of renderings before DeAnna Wattley, considered by many as the headline act for the night, took to the stage and gave a stellar performance for the better part of an hour with a number of Gospel hits, including from the reggae genre.
The final performer for the night was Ishika Charles who also gave a very energetic and inspiring performance.
Chairman of the committee organising the Gospel Fest, Reverend Dr Melvin A. Turnbull gave a closing prayer at the end of the show. He noted people might have come there with a heavy heart. “It is important that you understand that you are not alone,” he urged.
“Let's keep doing this and make it better and better,” he encouraged the public, in relation to the show.
For the last lap performance - the one for the road - it was the immensely popular ‘I know who God says I am’ performed by DeAnna Wattley and Ishika Charles, much to the delight of the crowd which by that time had increased into the hundreds.

The bible was written by a bunch of peasants who thought the world was flat, it is full of contradictions, atrocities, anger and if actually read makes not one iota of sense - except to the weak and brainwashed.
