ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- All six new lighting poles at A. O. Shirley Recreation Ground have been installed as the project enters test mode.

The Virgin Islands Recovery and Development Agency (RDA) announced on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, that all electrical work is complete and the lights are energised. 

The RDA said that each pole stands approximately 30 metres—nearly 100 feet—high.

The installation was carried out successfully by contractor No Limit Construction, as part of upgrades to the Virgin Islands’ premier sporting facility. 

“The installation marks an important step in the project as the electrical works have since been completed,” RDA added. 

The contract for the project is valued at valued $409,837.67.
