Alex 'Ants' George to be laid to rest on Saturday

Virgin Islands News Online, in breaking the story of the tragic incident last month, had reported based on information from sources that George was working on a utility pole in the North Sound area of the island of Virgin Gorda when he came into contact with a live wire.
Reports had indicated that electricity was off at the time but returned and one of George’s feet came into contact with the live wire and he was electrocuted. None of this information has been officially confirmed by either the BVIEC or the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF).
However, when contacted earlier today, September 22, 2015 General Manager of the BVI Electricity Corporation Leroy A. E. Abraham said investigations are continuing as he also confirmed that George will be laid to rest this Saturday.
Further information from the Human Resources Department of BVIEC indicates that the funeral will take place on the sister island of Virgin Gorda and the viewing will commence from 10:00am until 11:00am after which time the funeral service will commence at the Sanctuary of Hope Church.
Burial will take place at the community cemetery on Virgin Gorda.
The Human Resources Department of BVIEC also indicated that persons from Tortola desirous of attending the funeral and wish to catch the viewing and service on time can do so by taking the Speedy’s Ferry which will depart the Road Town Jetty at 9:00am on Saturday morning.
