Two men have been charged for the murder of Catherine Pickering, the woman who was fatally shot Aduring a robbery at Paraquita Bay, Tortola, on April 18, 2021. Charged with murder are Akeem Hopkinson, 22, and Shameek Grant, 28 both of Zion Hill. Both males were also charged with possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life and jointly charged with Shermar Richardson for robbery in the same incident.
Richardson, 24, of Gene Hill, was accused of providing information to the robbers and has since been remanded to prison.
Police said a female, Tyann Smith, 20, of Freshwater Pond was charged with aiding offenders in this incident.

Commissioner of Police Mark Collins had noted in a broadcast last week that his detectives were continuing to move meticulously through the inquiry process to ensure no stone is left unturned. He said he was fully confident that the officers in charge were competent, experienced and knowledgeable.
“Early this morning I was able to visit the detectives at the station and congratulated them personally for their diligence in this matter. I am very pleased with the swift actions and work of these detectives. I also made a call to Ms Pickering’s daughter to apprise her of the new developments.,” the Commissioner added.

I have to ask what are we not doing to teach our children that they have a choice to do good and not evil. The choice they sat plan and exeucted has changed their lives the innocent and all the familes and the territory on a whole. Justice would not be solve over night but Im certain the victim's family can feel a bit of easy knowing arrests were made for the murder. RiP Mrs Pickering.

Congratulations to the police Dept and Many Thanks to God.. greed is a bad thing and “the Love of Money” is the evil.. it doesn’t matter that they are from BVI, what they allegedly did was wrong and they should be held accountable for their actions. Ms. Pickering’s life was not theirs to take.. and the one that worked for them- he is a betrayer..many people want money but they don’t wanna work for it rather beg or steal from another.. God Word doesn’t lie- the WICKED days will end:. He is a God that doesn’t slumber nor sleep.. I pray mercy for their souls.. they didn’t have to kill her!...I am begging all of us parents to raise our children in the Fear of God and we keep on our knees praying for our children asking God to hide them from the enemy .. the devil is busy, but to God he must bow..
Pickneys mother nearly went jail, but get a slap on the wrist because of who she fuh. Now father ain so lucky. His feet are on slippery oil and the platform ready to tilt!!!!!!!! Now they have faces people get soft. No sympathy. They’re capable to say where they got the gun from don’t let them get charge and that’s it. More arrests please and good job.
Obviously it’s too easy for them to get guns which they aren’t sitting on for self defense but formulating stupid ideas to rob & kill.
I don’t believe they got it off island. If they did they’re bright minds might think to sell instead of robbing.
I want someone arrested for once for selling firearms and do serious time.

Before you, all on here jump to conclusions let us hear what the court says because this article is very vague and doesn't give full details.
If they indeed did it, let them serve the time....but until then innocent until proven guilty!
Fact is there is a God and He doesn't sleep. Vengeance is His. And to the parents that may have tried their best but children have a mind of their own.
