NANNY CAY, VI- Fifteen (15) boats came out for the 2025 Willy T Race and Virgin’s Cup, which took place on Saturday, November 8, 2025, and Airgasm and Bleue were among the winners of the event that was blessed with a lovely wind that went up to 18 knots at points.

The boats were divided into three fleets, with 4 trimarans, 2 monohulls, eight dinghies and a Tortola sloop all making the race.

It's all Bleue!

The mono hulls made a great start with Emme’s Beneteau First 210 Bleue and Opal, a Colgate 26 team led by Nora. They headed off after a close start up to Great Harbour on Peter Island, where they rounded the RMS Rhone’s anchor dive site ball.

"It was great to see a couple of monohulls match racing their way to the Willy T, with Emme clinching the win for the second year in a row," the RBVI Yacht Club reported.

Airgasm

The multihull race was competitive with Ting a Ling 2, Triple Jack, Airgasm, and Jerk Pork all turning out. They headed up the channel to leave Dead Chest to starboard and then down to Pelican and the Indians.

As always, the approach to the finish line was action-packed.

First home was Airgasm, helmed by Hannah Gardner, who went to take the win 6 minutes ahead of Kay Reddy at the helm of Ting a Ling 2.

The dinghies didn’t disappoint either, with Jake Richardson (ILCA4) in first ahead of 7 other dinghies.

"Big shout out to our first timers who sailed to the Willy T, which includes Alex, Sophia, Saskia, Maggie, Dee, Laura, Kit and Charlotte. They all sailed very well and got safely to and back from the Willy T.

"Jake Richardson won the dinghy class with the first “virgin” being Charlotte Branfield which is impressive as it was her first time in an ILCA since 2015, her first time sailing in the BVI and her first time at the Willy T! Maggie Nolan received 2nd and youngest virgin, sailing with her Mum Dee, after a great sail at full power the whole way from Nanny Cay," the RBVIYC stated.
