I realized she is not getting the Hype like the Mac Fellow who didn't finish his journey successfully...Why didn't the Big Screen in the Village advertise earlier.? My family and I left town around 330 pm only to reach west and saw the message of the big sceen in the village for Hodge race..We were very disappointed. We already in the west. If we had known earliee we would stayed in the village by eat and drinis and wait for it to come on...The Mac Guy village watch was announced days before and we were disappointed, also. A post like this is such an achievement yet, I am not seeing 200 congrats, Neither if fbook such a national proud moments...She was born to be geeat. I sai4 it 4yrs ago. ..Congrats Adejah, Proud of you 10000%. Keep working, avoid the Americans, follow Shelly Ann & Bolt foot steps, don't eat or drink from them, they will take you down at all cost., .Elaine and Sharika were careless..Stay focus, chose your friends carefully...

Stop your mess. Go over the hill and reach back Town in 15 mins. You would still catch the race if you really wanted to.

Adaejah T. Hodge, a descendant of slaves, on the 192nd anniversary of UK’s Slaves Emancipation on 01 August 1834 took gold in the 200m finals at the Commonwealth Games. A triumphant, historic, powerful victory! Congratulations on a historic victory for the people of the Virgin Islands (British).

@E. Leonard, you trying to tie Hodge’s victory to UK slaves emancipation and Commonwealth. That is a stretch mai boi. That is history. Time to move on.

@ E. Leonard, you got me thinking if sport historical connection is a coincidence, mere chance, or something significant. For example, Sir Garfield Sobers, cricket greatest all rounder, Barbadian national hero, passed one day shy of his 90th birthday,Further, West Indies beat Pakistan by 90 runs the day before he was buried. Was that a coincidence or something significant. Similarly, does Adaejah winning the first BVI Commonwealth Games gold medal one day shy of the 192nd Emancipation Celebration a coincidence, chance or has some fascinating historical relevance? In any event, Adaejah is a BVI’s rising and shining star. She is making Virgin Islanders proud. The Virgin Islands were viewed by some as a poverty stricken place and supposedly only useful as bird sanctuary. Adaejah, congratulations on your success. Job well done.

It is amazing how the big countries get so jealous when athletes from the Caribbean islands do well.

Don’t mind the noise. Keep making us proud.
