ATHENS, Georgia, USA- Virgin Islands (VI) sprint sensation and Olympian Adaejah T. Hodge has once again stepped into the history books by setting a new 2026 World Lead time, National Record and School Record in the 200 meters with a time of 22.10 seconds.

The milestone achievement was made at the Spec Town Invitational on April 10, 2026, where the University of Georgia freshman surpassed Jamaica’s Shanoya Douglas, who was ranked above her.

The Spec Town invitational is a collegiate track and field meet hosted by the University of Georgia at its Spec Towns Track and Field Complex in Athens, Georgia.

It features major teams, high-performance collegiate athletes, and fast times, often resulting in personal bests and meet records.

A great 2026 for Hodge so far

This year has been a successful one for Hodge in her Track and Field career. Some of her accomplishments include setting a new 400 meters National Record in March at the recent Hurricane Invitational in Florida with a time of 51.24 seconds.

She also became the first athlete from the VI to lift an NCAA indoor title when she won the 200M on March 14, 2026.

On April 7, 2026, Hodge was named coSEC Freshman of the Week, which recognised her pair of outstanding performances, including winning the 100m dash at the Battle on the Bayou with an 11.04 (+2.4m/s) finish and anchoring the 4x100m relay that set a school record at 42.62.
