Adaejah T. Hodge is 2026 NCAA Indoor 200M Champion

FAYETTEVILLE, Arkansas, USA- Virgin Islands’ teenage sprint sensation Adaeja T. Hodge has become the first athlete from the territory to lift an NCAA indoor title.

Hodge, a Freshman representing the University of Georgia, maintained her 2026 winning streak in the women’s 200m, taking the title in a world-leading 22.22 at the Randal Tyson Track Center on Saturday, March 14, 2026.

The winning time for Hodge is also an outright National Record for the Virgin Islands and a Facility Record. Adaejah had recorded a new Personal Best in the 200M, with a blazing 22.28s run to qualify for the Final.

Placing second in the Final was Jamaican Gabrielle Matthews, a Senior from Florida University, in a Personal Best time of 22.55. Third was Tiriah Kelley (22.64), a Senior from Baylor University.

60M Silver for Hodge

Earlier in the day, Hodge finished second in the 60m Final (7.15) in a race won by Jamaica’s Shenese Walker in 7.08.

She joins Tahesia G. Harrigan-Scott (2002 repping Minnesota) and Rikkoi A.R. Brathwaite (2022 repping Indiana) as silver medalists in the 60M.
