LONG BUSH, Tortola, VI – Residents and businesses in the Ridge Road and Josiah's Bay area of Tortola were today September 14, 2023, left without power after what is believed to be a hymac, hit down a power pole at around midday.

The BVI Electricity Corporation in an update stated that as a result of the damage to the infrastructure, there has been a temporary loss of power supply in those areas.

As expected, the accident also blocked traffic for some time as the road was impassable.

It remains unclear if power has been restored to the affected areas.

    Josiah's Bay is always having either electricity or water off. Nothing new to see here folks, keep moving. We just want to know when it will be back on!

    Every week the power is off for some reason the BVIEC now brings me and others mixed feelings.
