Acting Governor Mr David D. Archer Jr. presented her instruments of appointment on Friday, September 25, 2026. 

Premier Dr the Hon Natalio D. Wheatley (R7) is currently in London for constitutional negotiations with the United Kingdom (UK). 

The team is engaged in the second round of formal negotiations, continuing discussions on modernising the Virgin Islands Constitution Order, 2007 and advancing proposals that reflect the aspirations of the people of the Virgin Islands.

Acting Premier until September 26

Hon de Castro is carrying out the duties of Premier, Minister of Finance, Minister of Tourism, Culture, and Sustainable Development, and Minister for Financial Services, Economic Development, and Digital Transformation, from September 25 to 26, 2026. 

Hon Vincent O. Wheatley (R7) served as Acting Premier from September 21 to 24.

Premier Wheatley is expected to return to the Territory today, Saturday, September 26, 2026.
