BAUGHERS BAY, Tortola, VI - In a district where there is an all-out war on the incumbent Hon Alvera Maduro-Caines (R6) by her controversial opponent Mr Myron V. Walwyn, the two have come together today Saturday 22, April 2023 on a community project.

It was at the invitation of the BVI Recreation Trust, a statutory body under the Ministry of Education and Culture where according to its Executive Director Mr Eustace C. Freeman members were called upon to ‘uplift facilities’.

“It is our intention to call on members of the community to assist in the uplift of the facilities, today both political camps vying for the D6 seat, spent the morning at the Millicent Mercer Recreation Ground repainting the bathroom facility,” he said.

More works to come in new week

Other works over the past few weeks according to Mr. Freeman “included the rehabilitation of the restroom which included, Electrical work, Plumbing, and Painting,” he added.

The work at the basketball court included court rehabilitation, the Bleacher installation, and Repainting with other works that are to be done next week Mr. Freeman added.

In addition, to help from the Campaign Committees of both Hon Maduro-Caines and Mr. Walwyn towards the project, other members of the community also contributed including the one love football club and Paint Factory.

And this is how it should be. We are all family at the end of the day. The uplifting of the district is what should always come first.

That building is hideous. Its a box. Why don’t we design useful buildings that are easy on the eyes?

A john gets painted. Is this some kind of symbolism? What does the fixtures and fittings look like inside? You can wash your face and leave your arse unwashed because no one will know.
