This initiative will be rolled out following the upcoming Anti-Crime Summit scheduled to take place from September 24 to 26, 2025.
During 'Honestly Speaking' on ZBVI 780 AM on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, Premier and Minister of Finance, Dr. the Honourable Natalio D. Wheatley (R7), revealed that a specialised consultant will be brought on board to lead the formulation of this essential strategy. This expert will also provide insights and a detailed presentation of the strategy after the summit concludes.
Anti-Crime Summit is a key initiative of the security council
Premier Wheatley highlighted that this anti-crime summit is a key initiative of the National Security Council.
"Our goal is to create a total government initiative, meaning that the organisation and execution of the summit is being spearheaded by the National Security Council," he said, emphasising the collaborative nature of this effort.
As a critical outcome of the summit, Dr. Wheatley expressed hope that it would yield a robust anti-crime strategy, accompanied by the formation of a dedicated steering group tasked with implementing the recommendations emerging from that strategy.
Upon inquiry about the establishment of this steering group, he indicated, "Not as yet," signalling that further steps are still needed before this group is officially formed.
Qualified consultant being sought
The Premier assured the public that the government is actively working on securing a qualified consultant to draft the strategy.
"The consultant will play an integral role during the summit, engaging with all the presentations and discussions."
Hon Wheatley pointed out that a consultant has not yet been officially contracted, but he indicated that several candidates are currently being evaluated for this vital role.

Or Wheatley Consulting Ltd.. "The Consultant was also required to assist with the reading programme. This aspect of the
contract was not discussed in any of the consultancy’s report." "The report is limited on details and omits any analysis,
assessment or discussion to provide a full understanding of the issues, challenges, requirements,
implications and expectations as they relate to the subject areas. It is possible that these issues were
discussed comprehensively with officials within the Ministry or Department, the omission from the
report precludes other relevant parties from obtaining a full understanding of the process through
which recommendations were arrived at, and decisions were adopted. "
Maybe not.
Friends? Family? Who want money? No work or reporting necessary, just a bank account!!
We don't have a National Security Strategy?
Careful money spending is one of our top security issues, in order to serve the people of the B.V.I effectively. But when Millions of dollars are continuing have allegedly been misused, and continuing, how then a new security team could be trusted to upgrade our national security needs void of our people that are feeling the pressure harder than our leaders, and high income earners do?
Allowed me, please, to remind us that talk don't work well, but good works when honestly done for the betterment of all in all needed areas work well.
Good leadership begins, and continuing not without Godly principles minded, neighborly inclusive minded, political leaders, without which national security will fail to bear the fruit of its intended goal for the people of the B.V.I, and our daily visitors, too.
Creating Laws and Clauses falls under the Elected following an Election then Form a 4 years Administration for the betterment of the people
Gun People running left and right throughout our villages and only Now the Politicians speaks about National security strategy
