According to the British Virgin Islands Athletics Association (BVIAA), the team will compete at the Una Nueva Historia Sports Complex Stadium in Apizaco as part of a 12-member delegation that also includes coaches and support staff.

BVIAA President Steve Augustine stated that he is looking forward to this meet, as the VI team consists of a subset of VI’s top Junior and Senior athletes.

Good slate of athletes

Augustine is confident that the team is set out to make history while noting that the roster includes a slate of athletes whose resumes speak for themselves.

“I’m expecting great results in Mexico because this group of athletes is known for delivering under pressure,” Augustine said.

The team consists of the following athletes: Jah'kyla Morton (high jump), M'Kenzii Crabbe (100m and 200m), T'Keiya Smith (high jump), Andre Smikle (hammer and discus), Jahshani Farrington (800m), Mario Carter (200m), Othniel Gillings (high jump), Tiondre Frett (100m and 200m), and Tyrique Charles (100m and 200m).
