9 athletes to represent VI @ NACAC U18 & U23 C/ships in Costa Rica

SAN JOSE, Costa Rica- Nine athletes have departed these shores to represent the [British] Virgin Islands at the NACAC’s U18 & U23 Championships scheduled for the National Stadium of Costa Rica located in the city of San José from on July 21-23, 2023.

With a total of 35 participating countries at the championships, ‘Team BVI’ is made up of U18 athletes Jahkyla Morton, A'Sia McMaster, J Den Jackson and Jonathan Lynch while the U23 team includes Malik John, Wanyae Belle, Beyonce A. Defreitas, Akrisa Eristee and Kimberly Smith. 

Team coaches include Ralston Henry and Jennifer King Grate. 

The Team Manager is Stephanie Russ Penn and the assigned Physiotherapist is Shaun Williams. 

In 2021, quarter-miler Akrisa Eristee secured a silver medal at the NACAC U18 Championships.

The athletes left the Virgin Islands on Wednesday, July 19, 2023.
