8th district rep. is greatest disappointment in VI – Cline
“She is good for hiding behind words like an empty kerosene can, ain’t nothing happening her policies and her practice are not good for the BVI,” he told supporters at a meeting last evening, Thursday October 13, 2011 in Baughers Bay.
“The hospital is not finished, the folks will not get paid, and Adina Donovan is still the same. Nothing is being done,” he added. “Go sit down somewhere and let Marlon Penn be your next district representative...She came in 2007, with great fanfare and four years later we have discovered that the member of the 8th district is probably the greatest disappointment in the history of the BVI.”
The pastor and novice politician candidly stated that a real leader takes control, adding “You want to be the first this, and the first that and end up being nothing”.
He pointed out that the district representative who is also the Minister for Health and Social Development sat at “the table of decision” while her Government spent recklessly and sold the country out to BiWater, and now she had the nerve to tell her constituents about contingent liability.
“The devil is a liar. It is time to vote you out of office. You sat at the table of decision and presented no Auditor General’s report in four years, but you want to hop around the globe first class in the name of the BVI and you can’t even represent the 1,314 people in the East End district. Go sit down somewhere,” Mr. Cline stated.
As a seasoned lawyer, he continued, Hon. Penn could not assist the Premier to interpret the letter properly of what contingent liability is and what the letter said, instead he charged that she assisted, and was a co-conspirator in rolling the political bus over one of the decorated Permanent Secretaries, forcing her into retirement.
Fraser the "enslaver"
Turning his attention to 3rd district representative and Minister for Communications and Works, Julian Fraser, Mr. Cline alleged that he was allowed to “hijack” the Government. “...who have the nerve to call himself the liberator. If he wants to be a movie star and be some character – he should go to Hollywood.
"How are you going to call yourself a liberator, when you put two companies in here to destroy your own brothers and sisters? The TRC sanctioned both LIME and Digicel for unfair practices...while BVIslanders are being squeezed out of our own country. That ain’t no liberator; that is an enslaver!” Cline exclaimed.
The politician then turned to BVI Cable TV where he said too many Spanish channels dominate the VI - an English speaking territory.
“You singlehandedly hijacked an entire government and nobody said a word except the member of the First District. You took the biggest contract in the history of the BVI, for the longest period of time, took it from your brothers and sisters and gave it to someone else without any proper tender. And you have the nerve to call yourself a liberator,” Cline said. “The devil is a liar, opportunity and justice, Kevin Smith is the new sheriff in town."
