There are now 821 active cases of COVID-19 recorded in the Virgin Islands, according to the latest update by the Territory's Epidemiological Summary released minutes ago, July 8, 2021. Photo: VINO/File

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- There are now 821 active cases of COVID-19 recorded in the Virgin Islands, according to the latest update by the Territory's Epidemiological Summary released minutes ago, July 8, 2021.

According to the summary, the latest figures are results of testing done on July 6 and reported on July 7, 2021.

Only yesterday, July 7, 2021, it was reported there were 659 cases of COVID-19, which means there is an increase of 162 active cases.

The territory has now recorded a total 1147 positive cases and 324 recoveries.

Two persons have since died due to COVID-19, with the latest death occurring today, July 8, 2021.

According to the Territory's Epidemiological Summary, 8 persons are hospitalised with COVID-19.

      People are testing positive at government facilities and tested negative at private facilities...Something has to be wrong.

        Whether you test at Dr. Penn's office or D Orlando, the results are done at the D. Orlando Smith's hospital. So, you can sqyash thid one at Dr. Penn's and the results I picked up from Dr. Penn's office came back on D. Orlando Smith's hospital Letter head.

      All I want to know is how the death count ended up being 2 when the person died WITH covid and not FROM covid. Didn’t they retract the last death count for this same issue ??

    How the hell after a year the government still have unvaccinated front line line workers on government payroll. How can a nurse, a Doctor, an Elderly care taker in these positions of responsibility telling government they not taking vaccine and still remain on the Job, on Government payroll..Good leaders make tough decisions...Look what's going on, the place infested,.. because government refused to make hard decisions...

      Tortola dropped the ball allowing Clubs to open with no masks, no social distance , the clubs spread the virus as can be shown when nearly all cases are on Tortola , St Thomas has been open all the time withiut this problem, why? becuase they did not allow clubs to open!!!@!

      so true.....as of June 15th Vaccinated travellers were not required to do entry testing... Not sure why Gov made that decision because Vaccinated persons can be carriers...

In a Nut shell I am asking persons atop all the foolish obscenities and blame game; instead help me pray for God’s Continuous Love and Mercy for us all in the earth and also for His Deliverance .     Well God and nature's judgment is coming for those unvaccinated souls not willing to do the selfless act to take the vaccine for the greater good of the people, especially those who are vulnerable who cannot take the vaccine due to medical conditions.     Look folks whether u like it or not COVID IS REAL!!! U can choose to take the vaccine or not, where a mask or not, take precautions or not. It's a personal decision. Bottom line is if it's coming for u, it's coming! Until u lose someone u know, a family member, a friend of a friend etc. Then you'll sit up and take notice. Do what u can to protect yourself, then PRAY u do not become a victim. Take this virus seriously. There is no conspiracy!!!!!
