Bids were invited early in March and the deadline for submission was March 28, 2024.

According to the RDA, the submitted tenders will now undergo a thorough evaluation process to select the most suitable construction firm.

Project

The successful tender will be awarded a contract for the construction of a 1-story open air reinforced concrete structure (1,064.00 sq.ft.); Installation of a water storage tank; and Installation of a wastewater treatment system.

"Stay tuned for further updates as we progress towards awarding the winning tender and bringing this exciting project to fruition," the RDA stated on its Facebook page on March 29, 2024.

He had also said the Trellis Bay Welcome Centre project is being funded by the BVI Tourist Board.

While you waiting for the tendering process the people are suffering. Sense is not common anymore. You all are not ashamed of you all selves. Put some dirt in the pot holes and help the public you sick set of people we elect. Easy fix temporarily cost less than $3,000.00 you already have so much dirt in the area on beef and you folks can't get a simple thing like this fix all of you should be ashamed. Time fir all of you to go home both sides you get district funds what are you doing with it man you all neex to pack up and leave the offices. Need 13 new candidates who have people at heart.

Lets see….govt spent about $ 1 million for about 20 vendor stalls at Pier Park. So, $ 50k each. They are about 100-120 square feet, so call it $ 500 per square feet. On thar basis, it will cost about $500k for a basic structure. But it will need water, electricity, air conditioning, toilets etc, so just round it up to $ 1 million. But to get the job, I’ll offer to do it for $ 750k since there’s sure to be change orders thar will allow me to bill more than $ 1 mill.

Wonderful to see that something is moving on this project. Has been hearing about it for years and to be truthful it is an eyesore. We have our visitors and locals traverse that area for onward movement to our Sister Islands., some to five-star hotels. It is also being used at night for patient transfers from VG. So upgrade needed. Please don't overspend on this project though as runway expansion plans may change things up a bit. Everything does not have to cost a million dollars. A shade, bathrooms, seating, small dock extension, lights and some greenery without breaking the bank.
