5.63 magnitude earthquake rocks VI

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Many persons were shaken out of their sleep early this morning, Sunday, May 4, 2025, when an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.63 occurred.

The epicentre of this earthquake, which took place at approximately 2.58 AM, was at Latitude: 18.934 N and Longitude: 64.363 W, and with a depth of 40 kilometres.

According to the Puerto Rico Seismic Network, that was 22.09 Km North of Anegada, 50.06 Km North of Virgin Gorda, and 196.19 Km East-Northeast of San Juan, PR.

There was no Tsunami Warning, Advisory, or Watch in effect for the Virgin Islands.

Many have already taken to social media to share their experience, with many commenting on the heavy shaking.

      @ What I felt. I was watching TV. and live in Josiah's Bay. I felt the weak shaking at first. Then it hit hard and lasted about 12 seconds, then about 4 seconds with a mild ending. It shook my building, and I was about to run outside then it stopped. It is all according to where you live, if you feel it stronger or milder.

    All the dislikes proves you all have lack of knowledge. The fact that I was sitting right by the water and heard the explosion in the water as I watched the waves big up,heard the rumbling and felt the shake so tell me did you do your research or you listen to the weather people who can't predict the weather half the time. I know when it's going to rain because the little chem trail plane does be out. The government ALWAYS flood out carnival and shows so pay attention since you don't know how to do that right. Poor idiot you all got a text from flow saying the storm was going to hit now then all communication was gone. All by design. All the dislikes go take the COVID 19 vaccine and see if you didn't see major changes in your body because all the vaccinated people I know are sick,dead or handicap because they can barely do things for themselves

      @ Big pillow's. Wherever Andrew is, he can't feel anything in the BVI. When he returns home, I'm sure he will be humble and keep a low profile. When COVID hit us, he did a very good job protecting us and made sure we were all fed and helped, and we gave him praise. Everyone makes mistakes, some small, some big, but we have to learn our lessons well and not repeat those mistakes. He will be welcomed back because he still has family and friends here. Let peace be our guide, and forgive all of our errors and sins. We are only human.
