The World Athletics U20 Championships are scheduled for August 5 to 9, 2026, at the world‑renowned Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon, USA.
BVIAA intentional about relay squad
According to the BVI Athletics Association, BVIAA, the delegation features two qualifiers and three relay support athletes, marking a strategic push to ensure the territory fields a competitive relay squad.
“We have a strong group of young men who are all within the same age bracket, and we believe this group is a future power force for relay contention,” Vice President of the BVIAA, Ralston Henry, said.
He emphasised the importance of this year’s approach, noting that the federation was intentional about assembling a relay‑ready group.
Meanwhile, BVIAA President Steve Augustine added that while the team is small, collectively, they represent “some of the fastest rising sprinters in the Territory, each demonstrating exceptional speed and consistency throughout the season”.
