5 local charities receive support from Carey Olsen (BVI) L.P.
In a recent press release, Carey Olsen said as part of its commitment to supporting the local community, the decision was taken to make charitable donations to deserving local organisations to mark the Virgin Islands’ Emancipation Festival and the end of the offshore law firm’s financial year.
The charities were selected via a voting process done at the end of 2025, where Carey Olsen clients and staff were asked to vote for the charity they wanted to receive a donation in lieu of providing traditional holiday gifts to business clients.
Receiving the most votes and a donation were PAW BVI, M.A.L.E., Family Support Network (FSN), Breast Friends, and Creative Waves. Meanwhile, the firm said in helping to keep the Virgin Islands culture alive, for this year's Festival a contribution was made to the non-profit organisation BVI Optimum Skydancers.
Ongoing corporate responsibility
Carey Olsen said the giving initiative reflects the law firm’s ongoing commitment to corporate social responsibility and its dedication to giving back to the communities in which it operates.
Numerous other donations to other charities and financial support from Carey Olsen reflect this commitment to the Virgin Islands including its longstanding adoption and annual contribution to the Jost van Dyke primary school, its recent 5-year commitment to major sponsorship of the BVI National Parks (particularly the wreck of the Rhone and related educational initiatives), and its annual commitment to VISAR and CIBC Walk For A Cure.
