5 HMP inmates charged for murder of Nickail Chambers

BALSAM GHUT, Tortola, VI– Police this morning, September 15, 2021, charged five inmates in relation to the May 2021 stabbing at Her Majesty’s Prison that resulted in the death of Nickail Chambers.

According to a press release from the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) today, September 15, 2021, investigations conducted by officers of the RVIPF Major Crime Team led to the arrests of Andraes Norford, Essadro Jefferson, Rean-J Christopher, Dee Dijon Hodge, and Kareem Durant.

It said all five were charged with the murder of Chambers.

Norford & Jefferson also charged with attempted murder

Additionally, Norford and Jefferson were charged with attempted murder in relation to injuries sustained to another inmate.

All five will remain at the prison and will appear before the Magistrate’s Court at a future date, the RVIPF said.

Chambers, 29, was among four that sustained injuries in an altercation on the evening of May 30, 2021, at the prison. The four were treated at Dr D. Orlando Smith Hospital, however, Chambers subsequently died.

“Today’s arrests indicate the Force’s continued determination to bring all those responsible for serious crime to justice.

“The Major Crime Team continues to ask persons with information relating to this incident to come forward. All information will be treated in the strictest of confidence,” the press release stated.

      Those prison officers also need to be charged for aiding and abetting then. Time for a shake up....time to prove that nobody is above the law.

    Please find a way to send all convicted murders who have life sentences to England. They do not hesitate to hurt other people. They need to be placed in a maximum prison facility for life.

      The UK should rescind our priveledge of citizenship. They didn't sign up for this...the people of the VI was a different breed. Now build it with known garbage placing some liability on the UK in addition to destroying the fabric of the VI. Let the VI bear the expenses connected with this idiocy...no way would we be able to afford the expense connected to having these type of folks nd to the extent of being the majority living and breeding a fatal future for the VI.

        Don’t talk what you don’t know because all who is charged Is remanded awaiting trial they was not to be mixing with convicted prisoners so talk what u kno it is the officers to blame and truth be told one of the killers came jail for thieving anybody can kill don’t know why y’all think convicted murders are the only ones that can kill nothing will change if they send them away because they are not the ones beating guards or stabbing inmates in the jail
