4.9M earthquake felt in VI

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- At around 8:23 AM today, Sunday, April 28, 2024, an earthquake shook the [British] Virgin Islands.

According to the US Geological Survey, the Magnitude 4.9 quake occurred 82km North of Charlotte Amalie in the US Virgin Islands.

There were no reports of damages or injuries and the Department of Disaster Management (DDM ) has not issued any tsunami advisory.

The US Geological Survey also reported that a Magnitude 3.3 earthquake occurred around 9:06 AM, although some persons in the VI claimed they felt nothing.
