The 46^th Annual Foxy’s Wooden Boat Regatta, organised by the West End Yacht Club, will be held on May 28 and 29, 2022.

“This will see the 46^th year of this West End Yacht Club Regatta and immediately brings back memories of those glorious schooners and classic wooden boats of yesteryear that graced the Caribbean waters,” Commodore Peter Clatworthy stated via a press release on Tuesday, April 19, 2022.

Around JvD race

According to Clatworthy, this year will include an ‘Around JVD’ race in memory of past commodore David Cooper.

“With fewer wooden boats around these days, the event has long since been open to all boats, plastic, wooden or otherwise, and Foxy’s on Jost van Dyke remains a consistent and memorable destination. We hope also to enjoy the company of some refurbished Tortola Sloops,” Clatworthy stated.

Meanwhile, classes will be allocated by the Race Committee but will include Tortola Sloops and Corsairs.

Organisors said multiple Races will be held dependent on field sizes, completion times and weather conditions.

Also, handicaps will be allocated on the PHRF system and CSA for the Corsairs.

Registration

Registration for the event will be held from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Omar’s Fusion, Soper’s Hole on Friday, May 27, 2022. Persons unable to attend the registration event are asked to email westendyachtclub@gmail.com for an entry form.

“With the further easing of Covid entry restrictions and following a successful Spring Regatta we hope to see a return to this two-day BVI event of some of our old friends on the Caribbean circuit and particularly those from the USVI,” Clatworthy stated.
