COVID-19 vaccines were developed using science that has been around for decades.
COVID-19 vaccines are not experimental. They went through all the required stages of clinical trials. Extensive testing and monitoring have shown that these vaccines are safe and effective.
COVID-19 vaccines have received and continue to undergo the most intensive safety monitoring in U.S. history. Learn more about how federal partners are ensuring COVID-19 vaccines work.
Did you know : the first people in modern times to routinely use vaccines were Africans.
After you are fully vaccinated for COVID-19, you can resume many activities that you did before the pandemic. You can resume activities without wearing a mask or staying 6 feet apart, except where required by federal, state, local, tribal, or territorial laws, rules, and regulations, including local business and workplace guidance.
People are not considered fully vaccinated until 2 weeks after their second dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna COVID-19 vaccine, or 2 weeks after a single-dose of Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen COVID-19 vaccine. You should keep using all the tools available to protect yourself and others until you are fully vaccinated.

Most of the vaccine have not been developed with traditional technology. There’s different types of vaccines mRNA being one that is relatively new and was fast tracked for humans due to Covid.

If the facts of the vaccine was transparent from the start persons wouldn’t have doubts, conspiracies & EU regulators wouldn’t have had cause to halt certain brands or consider one vaccine brand to safer than others.
Persons want to make an educated choice and the overly pro-vaccine propaganda hurts the case for vaccination when people get online and see that in fact there are deaths & risks associated with brands of the vaccine some being more prone to causing serious side effects in comparison to other brands.
None of the COVID-19 vaccines contain the live virus that causes COVID-19 so a COVID-19 vaccine cannot make you sick with COVID-19. Learn more Facts about COVID-19 Vaccines

COVID-19 is still a threat to people who are unvaccinated. Even people who did not have symptoms when they were infected can have these ongoing health problems.
There is still a lot we are learning about COVID-19 vaccines and CDC is constantly reviewing evidence and updating guidance. We don’t know how long protection lasts for those who are vaccinated.
What we do know is that COVID-19 has caused very serious illness and death for a lot of people.
If you get COVID-19, you also risk giving it to loved ones who may get very sick. Getting a COVID-19 vaccine is a safer choice.

If you are pregnant and have received a COVID-19 vaccine, we encourage you to enroll in v-safe, CDC’s smartphone-based tool that provides personalized health check-ins after vaccination. A v-safe pregnancy registry has been established to gather information on the health of pregnant people who have received a COVID-19 vaccine.
People aren’t listening!!
PLEASE, go to the Festival Grounds this weekend and start getting vaccinated!!
When we were on lockdown with two cases and one death, we had no options. Everything was new and puzzling. A year later we are more informed and offered an option to take the vaccine. If you chose not to utilize the options afforded to you, so be it, but the country should not shut down because of your irresponsible choices. The country is depending on you and I so that we all can again enjoy the normal life we grew accustomed to. Stop spewing ignorance and educate yourself. Had we still not know how to manage COVID we would still be locked down; however, we know how to manage it; all we need are folks to stop being ignorant and adhere to established protocols and do their part to stop the spread.
In fully vaccinated countries like the above death rates have fallen rapidly. Germany with a population of 85 million had only 6 deaths yesterday. USA with 350 million people has only 26 deaths yesterday.
Don’t become one of the 50. Get vaccinated.
They are Not stupid.
Wow.
BVI health services has issued just over 24, 000 vaccines. We have almost 2000 active cases.
And we are still talking crop and don't want to take the vaccine.
56000 vaccines issued for a population of about 100000 in USVI vs 24000 vaccines at a population of about 30000 in BVI. Now compare: BVI has actually a better vaccination rate per capita than USVI. Still they have much less active cases now, compared to us. Why? Obviously, from the data that you just mentioned, not because of less unvaccinated ppl, percentagewise. Blaming exclusively the unvaccinated ppl for the actual situation in BVI is scientifically wrong.
While these past 15 months USVI just like St Martin had mitigation and control measures against the Covid 19, those measures were not as tough as the ones taken in BVI and thus the virus spread among the ppl more than it did in Tortola. Still , the situation was under control.
Now BVI is practically experiencing a first wave. What was before was insignificant in terms of numbers on every level. Might have looked good but it did not create any significant natural immunity among the ppl. Now the virus is encountering a virtually "virgin" terrain. A very similar situation in St Kitts following policies similar to Tortola's. All these are facts, but in an atmosphere of fear , many ppl succumb to tribalism and partisan narratives that are rooted not in science and common sense but ideology and wickedness of the few who just want to control the rest.

Now, the Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation (ATAGI) recommends people in outbreak areas have their booster shot at 4-8 weeks after their initial dose rather than wait for 12 weeks. ATAGI now also advises people in outbreak areas under 60 to “re-assess the benefits to them and their contacts” from getting an AstraZeneca vaccine now if the Pfizer vaccine is not available.
Covid-19 is real and the only way to arrest it is through herd immunity. There are two ways of attaining herd immunity. First, a significant percentage of the population getting infected and in turn developing an immunity to the deadly disease. However, in the process of getting infected, too many die. The quicker and better means to herd immunity is through a proven, safe protective vaccine.
Moreover, undoubtedly, the BVI is taking actions to prevent, control and mitigate the virus. Nonetheless, it needs to more to do. The VI is in crisis and no need for political calculations. It is time to grab the virus by any means necessary and arrest it—-get to herd immunity soonest—-vaccinate. Lockdown and close the border—damn the political fallout. Locking and closing border provides the unobstructed opportunity to get both arms around the problem and craft solutions. Just today a fellow Virgin Islander on site asked how many asymptotic people are walking around and unknowingly spreading the disease. The VI needs to find out, should it? Yes, locking comes with a cost but there are costs to all actions in life. What is the priority? Life or economic livelihood?
Then those that end up in the hospital will have a treatment including those vaccinated.
