Leanfer Hernandez was named the Valedictorian of the Class of 2026, while Kyle Alexander received the Salutatorian award.

The graduation ceremony took place at the Catholic Community Centre in Virgin Gorda.

The Honourable Sharie B. de Castro (AL), Minister for Education, Youth Affairs, and Sports, urged the graduates not to trade their values for acceptance, nor their dreams for approval. She emphasised that what makes them different is exactly what makes them necessary. “Don't trade your values for acceptance, and do not trade your dreams for approval, because what makes you different may be exactly what makes you necessary."

She further stated, “Today, we celebrate what you have completed, but even more, we celebrate what you are now called to complete, because the picture of these virgin islands is still being created and there is something beautiful the world will never see unless you take your place.”

She encouraged the Class of 2026 to find their rightful place, to move forward with excellence, integrity, and courage.

Premier encouraged graduates to embrace new paths

Meanwhile, the Premier of the Virgin Islands, Dr. the Honourable Natalio D. Wheatley (R7), encouraged the students to embrace the new paths they will be taking. “Graduates, you have now completed this stage of your preparation for life and career. You have been certified, equipped, and empowered to move forward. New horizons are waiting for you. New skills to master, new challenges to conquer, and even greater achievements to claim.”

Premier Wheatley added, “Do not be afraid of the unknown. Do not doubt your ability. You have already proven you can rise as you step into this next chapter and carry your purpose with confidence. Let your strength guide you. Let your values anchor you. And let your dreams inspire you to reach higher than you ever imagined. The future is wide open. Filled with promise and possibility. Look toward it with optimism and courage.”
