The people who are task with enforcing the protocols are failing, and failing big time...When you hear businesses saying they haven"t seen them in over 6 months and they now start showing up since the spike....Hmmm...They can lie and make as much excuses as the want.....It doesnt change the facts...They need to work everyday...

You CANNOT be serious. Grown people need to follow rules and take personal responsibility for their health. If businesses were being constantly harassed or were constantly harassing non-compliant customers - people would be on here complaining. Stop the blame game. Everybody KNOWS what they need to do. They just like to say others must obey but the rules aren't for them.

It is the same basis they name the storms. Originally they were using numbers to represent the variants but given this can cause some confusion it was decided to move to letters of the Greek alphabet for each new variant

most of them are permit holders who are in this country only to balance the books where they come from. bvi government have to foot the medical bills. lots of people in bvi on a work permits but running about this country making tax free income running from job to job as a matter of fact some operating a personal business while on a working permit and this practice should stop. see what the love of money or economics have bvi as we speak. government now have dig deep in the same money to fight this rapid rise in covid. this country was moving nicely until the sea port re-opened….yes the economy is stimulated along with health hazards: wonder how those who demand to reopen feel now(stop playing politics with the people health)

They need to have a number system or something let someone from BVIHSA come and give a certain amount of tickets at the testing station or something so that so many ppl do not stay outside, conversing and what-not with each other.

Shut the country down for 2 weeks, that is the only way to stop this wave, it is hard, but the government have to make the hard decisions.
    • Lucifer (07/07/2021, 08:32) Like (42) Dislike (5) Reply
I think it is too late for that now. The government were practically begging for people to get vaccinated and they didn't listen. Now the price for that stubbornness is being paid. People have a choice of lockdowns or vaccinations, lockdowns are not sustainable over a long period of time so the only way out of this is by vaccination and getting up to a sufficient level of herd immunity to protect the weaker members of the community.

If you are drowning in the sea and a fisherman comes along and offers you a life raft you put your faith in him that he knows what he is doing and accept. Although judging by a lot of attitudes here, many would happily drown while questioning the build quality of the boat

Everyone cannot take this vaccine, so stop the bullying! We cannot have 100% vaccinated.
    • Lucifer (07/07/2021, 12:14) Like (7) Dislike (3) Reply
This is correct in that 100% vaccination is impossible but it is also why it is important that those that can take the vaccine do so. You can't get to herd immunity to protect those with compromised immune systems or that are legitimately unable to receive the vaccine if you only have 40-50% of the population vaccinated.

Can anyone seriously say that 50% of the population here have legitimate medical reasons not to take the vaccine?
